Roma Telecom is an Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Company dealing in solutions,content and applications.The company was incorporated in February 2001 under the Companies Act Cap. 486 of the Laws of the Republic of Kenya.
Immediately after its registration, the company won a Telkom Kenya tender to replace its Analoque coin payphone system with a modernized Digital Cardphone network based on a Integrated Payphone Management System (IPMS).Roma Telecom thereafter placed the electronic airtime vending proposal to Safaricom and was signed on as its elecronic airtime vending partner. This project became one of Safaricom's ANOTHER FIRST in Kenya where the vending POS were placed in all the high human traffic areas.
The Company is currently licensed by Communications Commission of Kenya (CCK) as an Internet Service Provider (ISP) in the new converged license that now includes Voice and Data Service provision offering an Interconnection porfolio with major operators both locally and internationally.The company is a major long distance Voice and Data Carriers with an international switching center in Oakton, Virginia, USA deploying its Nextone switches on the Next Generation platform globally.
